Shihan William Nusz

Shihan Nusz started his Martial Arts training in 1967. In 1972, Shihan Nusz achieved the rank of 2nd Dan and his teaching degree. At that time, Shihan Nusz along with his partner Shihan Nelson Knode (1925-2010) opened their first dojo in Catonsville, Maryland.

In 1992, Mr. Knode retired and Shihan Nusz remained teaching for the Catonsville Recreation Council and now has expanded to include a dojo in the Reisterstown Rec. Council in Baltimore County, Maryland as well. In 1996, Mr. Nusz participated in the 15th Koshiki Karatedo International Championship, Tokyo, Japan, where he won a Bronze medal in Men’s Kata and was promoted to Rokudan 6th Degree. At that time, Shihan Nusz was appointed by the head master, So-Shihan Masayuki Kukan Hisataka, to lead the U.S. Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo Federation and Koshiki Karatedo, USA, Inc.

Shihan Nusz is an International Referee and has refereed and performed demonstrations in the United States, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, Australia, Portugal, Germany, at the Disney World Martial Arts Festival, at Disney Wide World of Sports, Orlando, Florida and at the Disneyland Martial Arts Festival, Anaheim, California.
